SCUM (Jimmy Jacobs, Jimmy Rave, Rhett Titus, Rhino & Cliff Compton) def. Team ROH (BJ Whitmer, Caprice Coleman, Cedric Alexander, Mark Briscoe & Mike Mondo)

Unsurprisingly the match gets off to a chaotic start, with action happening all around the ringside area. Some kind of order is restored with Mondo getting beaten down by various members of SCUM. Mondo finally gets the hot tag to Whitmer, who cleans house and C&C hit stereo dives on Compton and Titus on the outside. Mark Briscoe then hits a diving somersault off the top onto members of SCUM on the outside. Members of both teams take it in turns to take each other out until we’re left with Jimmy Rave and BJ. Rave escapes out of the ring but Whitmer follows up with a suicide dive through the ropes. Corino, who was on commentary, leaves and grabs Seltzer’s headset and then throws him into the barricades. Back in the ring, Whitmer is taken out by Titus, Rhino and Jacobs. BJ is handcuffed to the bottom rope as Compton throws the powder into Mondo’s eyes. The match has broken down once again with the referee helping Seltzer on the outside. Caprice hits a nice piledriver on Rave but Rhino gets him with a belly-to-belly suplex followed by a gore to win the match.

World Title Match: Jay Briscoe defeated Kevin Steen in another classic battle to become the 18th World Champion; This bout saw various members of S.C.U.M attempt to interfere but they were prevented from doing so by the ROH locker room.

Cliff Compton has been a face a face in this wrestling industry for a good time now. He has wrestled all over the world but his most notable run was with the WWE as Domino in the tag team Deuce and Domino. Cliff had some immediate success in WWE winning the tag titles with Deuce about four months after their debut. The tag team eventually dissolved about a year later leaving Cliff without a spot on the roster and out of the WWE. Cliff ended up in OVW under a new name new look but the same gimmick. Still with his 50’s mannerisms and phrases he debuted as “Mr. Media” Cliff Compton. Cliff had great success in OVW capturing there Heavyweight championship and honing his skills to become a top prospect in this business.

With Cliff in Ring of Honor and as member of the top Heel group you have to wonder where his career will go from here. Cliff has garnered success in every company that he has been in and at this point it does not seem like his success will end anytime soon. He has his second opportunity now, and only time will tell whether Cliff Compton will make an impact.

I can’t tell you how many times I heard Cliff Compton’s name come up in regards to new roster members. This untapped talent sat on the sidelines while ROH officials said “Soon Cliff”, “You’re the next to get hired Cliff”, and “Just wait a little bit longer Cliff”. LIES.

I reached out to Cliff Compton the night that Jimmy Jacobs and I won the ROH World tag team titles in Chicago. He was frustrated and tired of waiting on Jim Cornette, Sinclair Broadcasting, and the fans. He created his own “moment” last Saturday night and once again, you can only blame yourselves.
