Cliff Compton was one half of the Double Threat tag team, along with partner Jake Bishop. Together they dominated the WXW tag team division and eventually won the WXW Tag Team belts. However, Compton developed an attitude and violently turned on Bishop, in September of 2003, blaming Bishop for WXW stripping them of the tag titles. Bad blood between the two turned into a heated feud, with several dangerous grudge matches.
Compton shows he has the size, talent, and killer instinct to make his way to the top of the singles ranks in WXW. He shows no mercy on opponents and his devastating finisher is known as the “Cliff Hanger.” He has competed in many independent promotions around the country and is the current OTW Delaware Valley Heavyweight Champion. He also has competed for NWA Wildside and NWA-TNA. Now he plans to conquer the WXW heavyweight division.
Double Threat are Cliff Compton and “the Exibit” Jake Bishop. As a result of increased competition in WXW, Compton and Bishop decided they would have a better chance, if they combined their skills and focused on the WXW Tag Team belts. Double Threat view the competition as challenging, but know it is nothing they can’t overcome as one. Both are power wrestlers and use their size to dominate their opponents.
Compton brings with him the experience of working all around the country, battling a wide range of opponents. He has held several titles in quite a few promotions across the nation. His finisher is the devastating “Cliff Hanger.”
Bishop has quite a resume himself. He appeared on an A&E Biography Wrestling Program from November 15 thru 19, 1999, plus was featured on Wrestling segments on MSNBC and CNBC on February 3, 2000. His finishing manuever is known as “The Epitome.”
In singles, they have both proven that they can hold their own, but as a team, they are twice as devastating. Their double team finisher is living proof: Compton picks up one opponent as Bishop tosses the other one from the top rope, onto the unfortunate victim, a dangerous move which is not just a threat, but a Double Threat.
